Last month, the Power House at Rocky Mount Mills had the joy of hosting a cozy and stylish rehearsal party for Ali and Sam – a gathering full of warmth, laughter, and great food.

Thoughtful Design with a Personal Touch

Set against our historic brick backdrop and enhanced with soft lighting and elegant rentals from Curated Events — including cane folding chairs, amber glassware, and gorgeous linens — the evening was a seamless blend of charm and sophistication.

The décor reflected the groom’s love for the outdoors, with touches of blaze orange and moss green. Duck motifs on guest goody bags and an autumn-inspired palette added a personal, refined touch. Florals by Expressions of Love brought softness to the design, with white and green arrangements that balanced rustic charm with elegance.

A Menu to Remember

Guests enjoyed a custom menu from Rocky Top Catering. A salad station featured a beet salad with champagne-pink peppercorn vinaigrette and a Caesar with heirloom tomatoes and parmesan crisps. A chef-attended pasta bar added fun and flavor, offering toppings like grilled herb chicken, garlic shrimp, and roasted peppers.

Perfect Pairings: Wine & Beer Highlights

As conversation flowed, so did the drinks. The evening’s bar service was a true highlight — with tableside wine service and a handpicked wine list lovingly curated by the mother of the groom. Wines from France and California, plus a celebratory brut cuvée, were paired perfectly with the meal.

Details like blaze orange gift bags, duck-covered ribbons, and a woodsy cake highlighted the groom’s love of hunting.

Craft beer fans were treated to local brews, including Endless Reign Hazy IPA from Hopfly Brewing Co. — a great match for passed bites like seared tuna nachos and crab cakes with cilantro remoulade.

The night wrapped up with a petite display of sweet treats, including banana pudding shooters and chocolate chip cookies — the perfect way to end a joyful afternoon.

A Weekend to Remember

The next day, the celebration continued at our sister venue, Rose Hill Estate, where Ali and Sam said “I do” surrounded by loved ones.
