Josh & Iris’s wedding day was a heartfelt celebration of love, connection, and the people (and pup) who mean the most to them. From quiet, meaningful moments to joyful laughter shared with friends and family, the day felt intentional, effortless, and completely true to who they are as a couple.

A Setting Full of History and Character

Set against the historic charm of Rocky Mount Mills, the Power House offered a beautiful balance of industrial character and modern elegance. Exposed brick, warm wood beams, and the surrounding riverfront created a timeless backdrop that allowed Josh & Iris’s love story to take center stage.

With thoughtful planning by Events By Michelle, the day unfolded seamlessly. The couple exchanged vows at the River Overlook, framed by the natural light of the space and the falls of the Tar River. Warm candlelight from Lumbre Candle Rentals softened the industrial space, while classic white florals and décor, lovingly designed by the groom’s mother, added layers of meaning and personal touches throughout the day.

A Ceremony Full of Heart (and a Very Special Guest)

One of the most unforgettable moments came when Josh & Iris’s dog trotted down the aisle as ring bearer, instantly drawing smiles and laughter from their guests. It was a perfect reflection of the couple’s joy-filled spirit and set a relaxed, heartfelt tone for the celebration that followed.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their wedding party explored the grounds of historic Rocky Mount Mills for portraits. From the mills’ architectural details to sweeping river views, every corner of the property offered a stunning backdrop—capturing both the romance of the day and the unique character of the setting.

An Evening of Great Food, Music, and Celebration

Inside the Power House, guests enjoyed dinner and dessert from Something Different Catering & Café before being treated to live jazz by the Moonlight Swing Band, adding an elegant, nostalgic feel to the evening. As the night continued, DJ Patrick of Southern Elegance Events kept the dance floor packed and the energy high, with friends and family celebrating late into the night.

The celebration ended with a crowd-cheering sendoff as Josh & Iris made their grand exit in a classic Ford pickup truck, a perfect final moment to a day that felt both deeply romantic and effortlessly fun.
